Mirrors All Over!!

Hello Pretty girls, how are you all? Are you styling and dressing up? If not, start right away!! Here I bring for you all another post to which you will be able to connect more and find it easy to style yourself 🙂 that too like your favorite Bollywood diva. And for this you need not spend heavily on buying some designer wear ;)!!

This post of mine is inspired by the latest Mirror Work trend. I love following trends which are in fashion, but I make a point to customize them according to my style. I believe, instead of following trends blindly you should use them in a way, it looks something different and gorgeous at the same time. Also, if you can mix and match your outfits with the a new trend, it will not cost you a bomb and the whole outfit will give you a look of a completely new customized piece.

Mirror-work, is a type of embroidery which attaches small pieces of mirrors to fabric with colorful threads. Mirror work is traditionally a long-practiced technique in Gujarat, India. This technique has been used by them for clothes and home accessories for many years. Recently, the Indian designers are using mirrors for their ready to wear collection and you can find this trend everywhere in the fashion industry. Traditionally it was being used in Lehengas and Cholis but now you can find this particular embroidery in many of Indian & western outfits.

From Lehengas to Sarees, Salwar suits, gowns, dupattas and even in western wear, you can find this trend everywhere in the market. Gone are the days when mirror detailing was not considered to be chic or fashionable. Today, some of the most renowned designers use this element to add an extra appeal to the dress items. Remember, bright orange & pink salwar suit of Kangana Ranaut in the Movie Tanu weds manu Returns!! I am sure nobody can forget how gorgeous she looked in that, which was embellished with mirrors!!

Our wardrobes are full of all kind of designer dresses and styles, but whenever any event comes up we end up buying a new one!! And this is every girls story!!! We do not like repeating our outfits but what if I tell you to repeat with a twist!! The outfit I am sharing is an example and am sure you will love it.

Recently my best friend got married and I was sure that this time I ‘ll wear something different but not by buying a new one! Till now I wore sarees, anarkalis and Salwar suits to nearly all the weddings I attended. Even though I had many new sarees in my closet this time, I was not in a mood to wear them.

In this outfit I have combined the two most high on trends, first mirror work and second crop top.

What I wore!!

Now a days you will get ample variety of crop top blouses and mirror work blouses that are embellished with mirrors and stones in such a way that you can’t keep your eyes off!! Mirror work blouse with saree is the latest style option which everybody is going for but I choose to be different!! I recently bought this heavily embellished golden mirror work crop blouse and matched it with my long flared navy blue skirt. If you have gone through my previous blog posts, you would remember that I wore this same skirt during Diwali celebrations last year. At that time I wore it with a simple crop top. As this time it was an wedding event I wanted something which could lift the whole outfit in a way it looks heavy and stylish at the same time. This came out perfect and matched the latest fashion trends giving me a completely different look.  The mirror embroidery was perfect with cross thread work. You will get mirror work blouses which have plastic mirrors but I would suggest not to buy those as they will not give you the look which real mirrors give. Buy which has real mirrors.

My love for Accessories

My love for accessories and jewels is never ending!! Most of the time I end up purchasing jewels, even before finalizing my outfit 😛 This time I kept my accessories very subtle, keeping my contemporary look intact! But the jewels I chose had their own uniqueness and charm.

I completed my look wearing 3 elegant accessories:

Tassel Earrings

Broad Mirror Ring

Pearl & Kundan Hathphool

Tassel earrings are a trend this season and the best part is you can wear them with any of your outfits!! If you are following me on Instagram, you must be familiar with this white stone tassels. I last wore them with a body con red dress and it complimented the whole look really well.

Haath Phool and Broad Mirror Ring

Haath phool is a sophisticated and delicate accessory that highlights the hands. It consists of a bracelet which has multiple strings of pearls or chains which further connects to a ring. Initially worn by brides, in 80s, this trend is back and now not only brides but every other fashionista sports this adorable piece of jewel. I wore a pearl haath phool  with a stone ring to match my overall look.

Broad Rings is another style trend which is a must have this season. A simple broad ring is enough to complete your hand accessory. I picked up a round mirror ring to match my whole attire.

You can wear this type of co ordinates at various events like cocktail, sangeet, wedding ceremonies, or any other event. And I’m sure you will not go wrong. Try to mix & match your outfits and repeat them with a different look. Why to spend when you can create your own style story!!

Keep styling and share your story with me.
