It’s time of the year again when I actually dig out all my ethnic outfits to mix and match and to style them for the upcoming festivals! I think you all will agree that we have ample ethnic outfits which we wear only during wedding season or during various Indian festivals, rest of the time they are just lying in our closet!
Well, this season I want you to just style your outfits by trying different combinations of your skirts and blouses or crop tops and see a completely different outfit! And if you are lucky like me to have a sister then I think you need not buy anything!😉
The look I created in this blog post is simple yet stunning! The long skirt doesn’t belong to me! I took it from my sister’s closet. She wore the skirt two years before on Diwali and since then it wasn’t worn. I paired it with a boat neck crop top which I actually bought to wear with a saree but couldn’t. So I took these two pieces which were never meant to style with each other but actually complemented the look as a whole when paired together!
If you see the color combination of this outfit, it is very different and originally this skirt was worn with a navy blue top which was it’s actual partner!! But I loved the way how this green boat neck crop top looked so graceful with this pink floral skirt!
To complete the look I just wore big enamel Jhumkas and a druzee ring & bracelet and I was good to go!
You can also mix and match your outfits just the way I did and create a completely different look for the upcoming festivals and weddings! Let’s reuse are beautiful ethnic wears this season and create looks which can beat anything bought new!
I hope you loved this short & sweet post! Do give your feedback and do not forget to tag me if you recreate this look! I will be coming up with more ethnic outfits and looks so stay tuned & keep styling!

This blog post is really special to me. Firstly, because of my Collaboration with #Unnati Silks & secondly for my love for Indian wear, which makes me come back to Ethnic Post!! I received a beautiful Handcrafted Saree from Unnati Silk. Its Grey Pure Rajasthani Cotton Dabu Printed Saree.
So, What exactly is Dabu Printing?
Dabu printing is a traditional art and an elaborate process in a unique way of dyeing and printing by which exceptional print fabrics of unique appeal result. This mud-resist hand-block printing is practiced mostly in certain pockets in the state of Rajasthan, India. The appearance of these fabrics is unique for the brilliant floral and thematic patterns in sharp and finely detailed prints of bright and well-chosen hues & designs that have left modern pundits dumbstruck.
The highlight of Dabu printed fabrics is the use of organic colours and vegetable pastes which are eco-friendly, skin-friendly, fast, and retain their brilliance for most of the lifetime of the fabric. Dabu printed sarees undergo a rigorous process that involves a lot of not so easily available and costly natural dyes and vegetable pastes.
So Coming back to the post. I received this beautiful cotton grey dabu printed saree. I styled it by wearing it with a contrast mustard shade cold shoulder crop top. Kept the Palla a little loose from the side & sleek from the front. I love the way this saree was so easy to manage & all its pleats were intact without even using the safety pins!! The saree was super comfortable & the quality of the fabric was so good, that even after wearing it for more than 2-3 hours, it didn’t had any crease. It’s a wedding season, you can carry this unique & stylish look to your friend’s haldi or mehendi function.
I styled this look with a pair of golden jhumkas, a ring & bangles.
As for my hairdo, I made a high bun & accessorized it with a leafy golden band.
Unnati Silks has an amazing collection of handlooms from various states and styles. From Cotton & silks sarees to Salwaar Kameez, skirts, fabrics & Kurtas they have all. And I must say they are best in both quality & price. So, what are you waiting for? Check their amazing collection by clicking the link below.

Navratri – The festival which symbolizes the victory of good over evil (Victory of Maa Durga over Mahishasur) comes with nine days of celebration. People not only offers prayers to Maa Durga but also celebrates this festival through dance, wearing traditional clothes and making delicious delicacies. Festivities in India bring change in your daily routine and add colors to your otherwise monotonous days.
Garba & Dandiya were the dance forms which were earlier performed only in Gujarat, but nowadays it is performed by everyone across the country. It is the essential highlight of navratra festival without which navratra doesn’t end. People in a group perform this infront of Maa Durga.
Through this post I am going to give you style option to create a colorful dandiya/garba look. Recently I went for dandiya night which was organised by Country Inn & Suits, Sahibabad & carried this colorful gujarati look for the dandiya.
Since today is the last day of Navaratri festival, I know many of you must be planning to go for dandiya/garba tonight, so I thought of sharing my dandiya night look with you all.
I wore a traditional gujarati lehenga with dandiya dancers embroidered all over the lehenga. The lehenga is a mix of black & pink hues with colorful thread embroidery & mirror work. Instead of wearing it with its actual blouse, which was as heavy as this lehenga, I paired it with a plain silk crop top.
I styled it with silver jhumkas & a long silver & blue neckpiece. This long neckpiece actually gave this attire a true gujarati look. Last but not the least I pinned my pink mirror work gujarati dupatta (these gujarati dupattas are available in every color at Delhi Haat, Sarojini Nagar for Rs.250- Rs.350) at the side, since I knew I would be dancing a lot🙈🙈.
So, take a clue from this look and create your festive look enjoy the last day of Navratri.
Do comment below if you love this look.
Lehenga- By my friend Deeksha Pandit, owner Sui Dhaga, Jamnagar, Gujarat
How are you all? I know its hot and humid but dont let this weather stop you from trying new trends & styles in vogue!!
The festive season has began with many festivals coming back to back.To deal with our favourite season and dress up for different festivals, here’s a fresh and summer cool collection of #Aarjo. Yes, they are back with some super cool and comfy kurtis with unique design and patterns to make you look fresh like a blooming bud.
India is a land of festivals and there are many upcoming festivals like Janmastmi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri & many more. With humidity at the top, its difficult to dress up in heavy ethnic attires. But for Indians its impossible to celebrate any festivities without getting dressing up so why not dressed up in an elegant and comfy clothing!!
Aarjo has an amazing collection of kurtis, dresses & tops for everyday wear as well as for special occassions.
Here are some kurtis from there collection:
1. The Pearl & Pastel Kurti
This elegant pastel blue & pearly white long kurti is designed with beautiful floral print & delicate pearl buttons in the middle. The fabric is cotton which is perfect of any weather. You can pair this with flared palazzo or straight fit pants which you can wear as a formal outfit for work or a casual summer lunch. Pair it with light silver jewellery for any occasion.
2. The Sunshine & The Green hues
Summers are the best seasons to embrace lighter shades. If you like adorning bright shades these kurtas are for you. This beautiful mustard and grey kurta is designed in a pretty floral print with mirror work embroidery in the centre, gives it a true ethnic look. Style it with jhumkas and pair it with grey or white bottoms to complete the look. Also, a side braid or a twisting ur hair at the back will make you look simply adorable.
This style is also available in mehndi green shade with similar flower print & embroidery. So you can choose your favourite shade.
3. The Bell Sleeves Kurti
I really liked the Indo western style of this kurti. It not only included the bell sleeves trend but also big pockets in the front, giving it an entirely different look. Also, I really loved the check print & flower print combination which gave this Kurti unique style. If you like subtle colors, this kurti is perfect for you.
Pair it with a grey trouser or flared palazzos and you are ready for a casual day outing.
4. The Flower Power
This light shade kurti with a contrast palazzo pants is a perfect summer outfit. The fabric is super soft & light on the body. It is so comfy that you will love wearing it again & again. With beautiful flower prints all over, this is truly a delight to wear.
5. The Indigo Delight
This Kurti had a white zig zag print all over . I really loved the side cut style with beautiful lemon buttons on the upper part. It looks absolutely stunning when paired with flared white palazzo as the side cut allows palazzo to peep through making the whole attire score high on elegance & style.
You can wear this outfit & look fabulous for any formal day event or a casual sunday brunch.

This post is special as it is my very first collaboration with “AARJO” – An ethnic & western wear store in Hauz Khas Village. The Kurtis they offer are high in style and the fabric is perfect for summers. Their Spring Summer collection is full of vibrant color kurtis, beautiful patterns with different designs from ethnic to western-ethnic fusion which can be customized as per customer needs. The best part is you can choose from fabrics they offer and get customized outfit for your daily wear at college, formal event at your office or for your everyday wear and that too at reasonable prices unlike other stores in the area.
Their collection comprises of cotton kutis, anarkalis, palazzos, knee length cotton dresses, daily wear tops and anything which you want to get customized for your daily wear look. If you are looking for comfy clothing which offers elegance and style that too at a reasonable price, AARJO is the destination.
Hand Block Printed Anarkali
Though the origin of Anarkali suits dates back to the Mughal era, it made a comeback long ago in the Indian fashion market and everybody on their special occasions wear anarkali in different forms like floor length, ankle length, the heavy flair ones etc. The positive side of an Anarkali outfit is that it flatters every body type. It hides your flaws in its long pleats making you look gorgeous and flawless. Though women of every age group wear it, but mostly they are the ones which are heavily embroidered and are worn only on special occasions like weddings !!
Its time to bring this awesome outfit into your day to day wear! Yes, the collection I am showing you will make you wear this outfit for your daily wear whether going to college, formal lunch or travelling to some place, you can just slip into this comfy outfit and enjoy your outings.
I loved this parrot green anarkali with handblock prints as the color is perfect for summers and can be styled for both daily wear or to your friends function. Team it with heavy jewelry and you are ready for your best friends mehendi function!! Style it with minimum accessory when travelling to some historic place. Confused?? as to what to wear for your college ethnic day? Try this outfit and I am sure your photographs will be the best among all!;)
I accessorized it with green jhumkas and a broad Druzy ring with pearls. Twisted my hair and made a side braid which complemented my traditional look.
2. Another Stunning piece in same design
The best thing about “AARJO” collection is their variety and customization. We girls are really very choosy when it comes to the design and color combo of a particular outfit.Sometimes we like the design but not the color contrasts. Well, here comes another piece in similar design but in a different color combination.
I personally loved this piece as the white prints on the bright purple color highlighted the whole outfit making it look royal. I styled this with metallic jhumkas with pearls and a pearl chain. The beautiful prints make this outfit complete in itself that it doesn’t require any heavy jewelry. I twisted my hair from one side and clutched them at back.
3. Cool Blue
The best part of wearing Anarkali is it not only hides your flaws but also it creates an illusion which makes you look tall!! If you want to look tall for some event try wearing the suit which is fitted on the bust and pair it with high heels. You will yourself feel the difference.
Another simple and elegant piece from their collection is the white with pastel blue anarkali dress. This piece is fitted at the bust and has a dori in a beautiful design through which you can loosen up or tighten up the fitting. I kept my look simple by just wearing ethnic metallic jhumkas.
How are you all? I am sure everybody is busy attending weddings these days! Some might be attending their best friend’s wedding, some might be of their cousins and its quite possible that most of you must be preparing for your own Big Day!! Even I am attending functions & parties, weddings and what not!! And that to back to back!! Although there is always some hustle and bustle from getting ready to giving final touches to your look, I managed three different looks for recent events I attended.
Apart from my different looks, I’ll be sharing the various jewelry trends which are completely in this season. Traditional, funky, stylish, there is serious innovation in Indian jewelry styles this year. Chandbalis, Hand harness, Mathapatti, Jhumkas, funky rings and what not!! Now-a-days its not only the bride who wears heavy and stylish jewelry, you attending your best friend’s marriage can also sport a funky look with innovative jewelery.
The most innovative of all is the Mathapatti trend this season!! I too got inspired from Bollywood divas, the way they carry these trend and styled it with one of my outfits. Here I am also sharing my 3 looks and outfits for different functions. Whether you are wearing a Saree or a simple Churidaar, you can always enhance your attire by wearing right kind of accessories, just the way I did and it worked awesomely well!!
Head Accessories – Mathapatti the latest trend
Matha Patti has evolved as a must have head accessory for all girls and bridesmaid who are attending there close one’s wedding this year. Lately it was only worn by the Bride but from this season it’s a must have accessory for every girl. There are so many forms and designs which have recently entered the market. From Simple maang tikka to Chandbaali style, multilayered style, and a lot more.
Here I am sharing the two styles which I carried this season which enhanced my look and perfect for the occasion. In one of my looks I wore an elegant Chaandbaali Maangtikka with pearls and added soft curls to my hair which overall complemented my look. I also matched it with chaandbaali earrings making it look absolutely gorgeous.
I am sure every girl now a days has grew fondness over this piece of jewel. It is favourite of all the jewellery trends and compliments any outfit worn with it. Chaandbaalis resemble like a dangling crescent moon & if worn right, it add a dash of glamour and style make you look as gorgeous as the moon itself. Channdbaalis was worn best by “Deepika” in “Ramleela”, and that’s how it made a comeback!!
Chaandbaalis now-a-days come in various styles and metals. From gold to silver, with precious stones and pearls and from a simple antique design to one with tassels of pearls. Generally these are heavy, if are in metal and can be worn with an ear chain which also gives a touch of gracefulness and can prevent you from adjusting them every now and then. Also, if you require customized Chaandbaalis matching with your outfit colors, many shops offer that facility, adding same color droplets or pearls which compliments your outfit.
Recently, I wore pearl Chaandbaalis & Tikka (pearl ones being my favourite 🙂 ) to a wedding ceremony and these pieces of jewels actually made me stand out of the crowd. I wore a simple pink churidaar with deep back and no work which not only highlighted my jewellery but aslo added elegance and style to my overall look.
Chandbaali Style Pearl MaangTikka
Beautiful Pink Chandbaalis
First Look – Churidaar
I wore a simple pink & gold brocade churidaar and made soft wavy curls. For knowing how to get these curls you can go through my previous posts. I kept my jewelry to minimum by wearing Pearl chandbaali maang tikka and similar pattern earrings. Completed my look with a gold shimmer clutch and pearl bracelet. I kept this look simple yet elegant, which highlighted my beautiful jewels. This look is perfect for those days when you do not want to carry heavy outfits yet look gorgeous among the crowd. 😉
Second Look – Floor Length Anarkali
During the past few seasons, the trend of Floor Length Anarkali suits have become favourite ethnic wear of many!! Whether you’re a bridesmaid or a bride, in any one of the various wedding functions you ll definitely wear this. Previously lehengas and sarees were the only options for weddings. With the emergence of the anarkali suit and sexy anarkali neck designs, it is now easy to fuse fashion and comfort. Moreover, they also give an impression of a long flowing gown. I chose a net fabric floor length anarkali with heavy mirror embroidery on its neck and golden borders. As it had mirror work only on its neck, my jewels perfectly matched with its design. You can try this overall look on any of the occasions whether during festivals, pooja, marriage ceremonies or any social gatherings.
Third look – Net Saree with 2 layer Mathapatti
I am sure you all must have seen Bollywood divas flaunting this double layered Pearl Mathapati not only with traditional outfits but also with Indo- western outfits!! But were you inspired enough to style it with your own outfits? If not, here is how you can style it!! I styled it with my net saree with golden sequins. The gold sequined border on the saree gives quite a traditional edge to the otherwise contemporary look and the bright pink color adds gracefulness to the overall look. I took a very light and elegant mathapatti which had double pearl layers and a stone pendant. Styling a heavy Mathapatti can go over board as a little heavy side will give it a bridal look!! This piece of jewel with Pearl Chandbaalis gave me a complete stunning look.
This wedding season, try different looks according to occasions and do not forget to style yourself. Try to add something unique, every time you dress up and flaunt it with confidence!!
Don’t forget to tell me how you liked this post! And let me know which look as per you was the best of all!
Love you all :*

Festive season is on with full swing and this festive mode will go on till Deepawali. What I most admire about this season is the vibrant colors which we get to see in every shop and every market we go. India is known for its rich ethnic culture and no other girl will look as good in ethnic wear as we do. Bright colors like orange, yellow, royal blue, pink and a mix of all these are the ones which you will see everywhere.
Each and every day there comes a festival and our desire to get dressed up pops up!! But every now and then we can’t dress up with full bling wearing all our traditional outfits, the anarkalis, the lehengas and so on.
So I thought to add some bling and style to my recently purchased W Kurti and get ready for dusshera celebration. The most amazing part of this kurti is the bright pink n royal blue color combination floral print on the front and back which enhances the overall look.!! This color is my favourite as you must have seen in my last blog where I wore a neckpiece of same color.
Chic and Stylish Clutch
I am in love with this awesome clutch. My favorite blue and the golden studs!! It goes well with the style and completes your look for any occasion. If you are wearing any western outfit team this clutch by attaching the sling (it comes along with it) and it will act as a sling bag!! This is what I really love about Miss Bennett collection not only they are stylish but also comfortable to carry.
I added a royal bling to my look with these multicolored earrings. These type of danglers are just perfect when you are styling yourself in a modern ethnic look. These earrings can go along with traditional as well as any western outfit. Apart from this over sized rings are the trend this season. Wear your trendsetting style on your hand with statement rings which compliments your outfit.
Stand tall with confidence
High heels not only make you look taller but also makes your overall look sexy. It also boost your confidence to carry your outfit in style. I added a pair of nude heels to my look which went absolutely well with the overall colours.
So girls, keep experimenting and styling and bring out the hidden diva in you. Be sure not to overdo your look. Keep it minimal yet stylish & twinklewithmystyle!!
